As the name implies, the minimalist and elegant interiors of Casa Luz are filled with natural light. Those who enjoy relaxed indoor-outdoor living experiences will take delight in the open-plan design of the living/dining room, with contemporary furnishings complemented by floor-to-ceiling sliding glass windows opening onto to a shady pergola and pool terrace. This is a wonderful space to share with family or friends, summer or winter; for relishing in long slow meals overlooking the pool and garden or for relaxing by the log fire in the cooler months.

Casa Luz has 4 ensuite bedrooms sharing a side terrace, plus a separate garden suite with extra bunk beds, ideal for a couple with young children. 

This eco-friendly property was designed with efficiency and sustainability in mind (renewable energy source and low water consumption) and is surrounded by a Mediterranean style terraced garden (2,300 sq metres) planted with olives, almonds and fruit trees and a long saltwater pool immediately outside the living/dining room. It’s located in a serene rural setting approximately 10 minutes’ drive to the coast and there is a range of local golf courses choose from.

The Ria Formosa Natural Park nearby is protected from the open ocean by a labyrinth of barrier-islands and pristine stretches of sand, and its lagoons and tidal marshlands are a sanctuary for over 200 species of waterbirds, seahorses and chameleons amongst others. The seawater as well as air temperatures of this region are remarkably warmer than on the west coast with calmer ocean tides too, making it perfect for families. Adding an extra layer of adventure, some beaches can only be accessed via ferries or a private boat transfer. Fresh fish and seafood including oysters and clams, regional wines and sea salt extraction are central ingredients of the delicious local gastronomy!

WARNING NOTES: Due to some unprotected drops from the pool terrace and some garden levels, young children must be supervised.

July & August – €5,000 per week

June & September – €4,000 per week

Jan – May & October – December – €3,000 per week

BOOKING & CANCELLATION TERMS

  • Minimum 7-nights rentals with Saturday changeovers applies in July & August; 4-nights minimum accepted during other periods (pro-rated) but a preference is given to full week rentals
  • Check-in after 16:00 hours & check-out before 10:00 hours
  • No parties for more than full capacity, no pets & strictly no smoking indoors (penalty equal to security deposit)
  • Extra services are subject to availability and should be booked well in advance especially in high season; paid in cash locally, credit cards are not accepted 
  • Non-refundable rental deposit of 30% required to reserve the property
  • Rental balance due 6 weeks prior to start date of rental, not refundable after this date 
  • Security deposit of €900 to be paid in advance of - this amount minus any applicable charges is refundable at the end of the holiday
