Ocean Villa is perfect for a large group of friends or family, wanting to enjoy time-out in a unique setting. The property sits nestled in an extraordinary coastal location looking over Praia das Cabanas Velhas and out to the ocean. 

Designed by renown Portuguese architect Frederico Valsassina, it offers spacious and minimalist interiors totalling 782 sq metres with large picture windows bringing the outdoors in. The accommodation is split on three levels and includes a triple bedroom suite ideal for youngsters to share. Various terraces open onto different levels of the flood lit Mediterranean garden with a lawn area, and some unique spots for relaxing and enjoying both the views and the spectacular sunsets!

Just a short walk away, golden sand Cabanas Velhas Beach features a restaurant for light daytime meals as well as dining which can pre-booked before your arrival. Alternatively, we can arrange for a private chef experience during your stay.

We also recommend hiring bikes to cycle to either Burgau or Salema (villages located to either side of the villa) for a wider selection of bars and restaurants. Nearby there are several golf courses to choose from as well as the rugged and beautiful west coast, perfect for surfing. Lagos town and its world class marina is 25 minutes drive away. 

WARNING NOTES: Although fenced-in, the cliffside location of this property is not suitable for young children – there are a number of unprotected drops from the indoor staircase and the swimming pool surround, as well as some low terrace walls. There is a public walkway passing through the perimeter of the private grounds but separated by a gate.  

Top Level  

  • Very spacious TV lounge with office area/workstation, opening onto to large panoramic terrace. Family bedroom suite (3 beds of 90x200 cms) with shower bathroom and a roman bath. Master double bedroom (bed size 160x200 cms) with closet area, and a shower bathroom with double basins. Both the triple and master bedrooms open onto to the panoramic terrace.

 

Mid Level

  • Entrance hall and access to partly covered terrace and infinity swimming pool. Guest WC. Very spacious L-shaped room incorporating the open plan kitchen, dining room and living room. Doors to an outdoor dining terrace (with pull out shade) and built-in barbeque area. Two double bedroom suites (bed of 160x200 cms), each with a shower bathroom, plus a twin bedroom suite (2 beds of 90x200 cms) with shower bathroom.

 

Lower Level (these rooms can be accessed through the main house or a separate garden entrance)

  • Small living room with TV/games and two sofa beds, opening onto the garden. Double bedroom suite (bed size 160x200 cms) and twin bedroom suite (2 beds of 90x200 cms), each with shower bathroom and opening onto the garden.

  • A variety of equipment and activities are available including table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, weights and yoga mats.
  • Bedroom & bathroom linen provided for the requisite number of guests changed every 7 days & between rentals; the twin suite on the Lower Level can be made up as a double or twin bedroom on request

  • Minimum 7 nights rental with Saturday change-overs applies June to September; minimum 4 nights rental with flexible change over days applies during the rest of the year 
  • Check-in after 16:00 hours; check-out before 11:00 hours 
  • No parties for more than full capacity, no pets & strictly no smoking indoors (penalty equal to security deposit)
  • Extra services are subject to availability and should be booked well in advance especially in high season; no credit cards accepted locally, only cash
  • Non-refundable rental deposit of 30% required to reserve the property
  • Rental balance due 6 weeks prior to start date of rental, non-refundable after this date
  • Security deposit of €5,000, to be paid in advance of rental - this amount minus any applicable charges is refundable at the end of the holiday
